At Green Technology Solutions, we understand the importance of keeping your data safe and secure during every step of the recycling process. Hard drives, cell phones, tablets,USB drives, and even SIM cards are each handled through a clear, consistent process every single device, every time.

IN-HOUSE, EVERY DEVICE

GTS performs this entire process in-house for every device we receive. We NEVER send un-wiped hard drives, phones, or tablets to third-party recyclers for wiping.

Intake
Loose drives and drives still inside devices are collected from business pickups.

Verification
Every drive is tested to determine whether it's functional enough to be securely wiped.

Fails testing

Destroyed
Drives that fail testing are crunched in a hydraulic press, rendering them completely unusable.

Passes testing

Wiped
Drives that pass are wiped to D.O.D. level standards a secure erase followed by a verification sweep to confirm the wipe was successful.

Back to market
Wiped, verified drives are returned to the reuse market rather than broken down for parts.

Every device is powered on to determine whether it can be wiped.

Destroyed
Devices that are dead, obsolete or otherwise unable to be wiped are physically destroyed prior to recycling.

Wiped
Devices that power on successfully are securely wiped in-house.

USB drives and SIM cards are physically destroyed ONLY. They are NEVER reused, regardless of condition.
